My photo
I am a Bicolano by birth and choice. By any standards, I am a slow runner but I like it that way. I look at running as a healthy and exciting way to make a difference. Together with my fellow runners from our family, school, office, and the community, we use running to give back.

FROM CANADA WITH BROTHERLY LOVE

Fellow 83neans Ernie Badong and Ed Balcueva have each a new pair of running shoes entering  2013.  These are courtesy of our Ateneo de Naga HS Batch 1983 classmate Gerry Abainza who has migrated to Canada a few years back.

Ernie received a new pair of Nimbus, the top of the line cushioned shoes in the  Asics collection. The pillow comfort of the Nimbus will help  power Ernie to the finish line of the BDM 160 ultra and many ultras to come.  Ed  got a new pair of New Balance 1226, a high mileage trainer.   This new pair will be an added incentive for Ed to consistently go on his long weekend runs.

The duo set out to enjoy their running shoes for the first time in January 1 in their usual training ground, the 2.2-km loop in UP Diliman.  Starting out early afternoon, they literally ran till darkness consumed the light.  Judging from their handsome  running form and killer smiles, they  savored their new blessings for the New Year.

Indeed, from Canada with brotherly love.

Maraming salamat, Gerry.
