I am a Bicolano by birth and choice. By any standards, I am a slow runner but I like it that way. I look at running as a healthy and exciting way to make a difference. Together with my fellow runners from our family, school, office, and the community, we use running to give back.

HOKA: Versatility to the Max

EmoticonAt our trek to the foothills (300 meters above sea level) of Mt. Makiling for our tree planting (http://bicolanopenguinswonderlog.wordpress.com/2013/09/13/tree-planting-at-mt-makiling/), I  used my Hoka Stinson Evo Tarmac.

Although a running shoes for the road, and not the trail, this Hoka proved versatile enough to make the hike not  tiring for me.  I felt no fatigue in going up the hills that I had a lot of energy in clambering all over the hilly tree planting site.  I guess this was due to the huge bulk of the Hoka which made it roll over obstacles more easily, whether they are sharp stones or muddy dirt road.

Truly, the Hoka is a monster truck on the road and the trail. Versatility to the max.
