I am a Bicolano by birth and choice. By any standards, I am a slow runner but I like it that way. I look at running as a healthy and exciting way to make a difference. Together with my fellow runners from our family, school, office, and the community, we use running to give back.

ALASKA WORLD MILK DAY RUN: June 9, 2013

Yesterday, I received an email from Karina, a friend from Chinatrust, inviting me to register and join the Alaska World Milk Day Run scheduled for June 9, 2013 at Bonifacio Global City.

She is helping her  sister who is with Alaska Milk Corporation. Of course, I said yes and informed her that I would invite my running buddies. A week after our planned conquest of the 32km at RU2, the June 9 fun run looks ideal for a recovery run.

World Milk Day is celebrated annually in many countries worldwide, providing an opportunity to focus attention on milk as a global food central to health and well-being across cultures and nations, and to highlight the contributions connected with milk and the overall dairy industry. To celebrate this, Alaska will have a running event with four (4) categories: 3KM, 3KM Family, 5KM and 10KM. Interested runners can register on line or go to the registration booth (in front of Zafra) in  Glorietta 3, Ayala Center, Makati.  For more details, check out  the website (www.alaskaworldmilkday.com).

The target beneficiary of the Alaska World Milk day Run is the Children’s Hour. For every registered participant, Alaska Milk Corporation will donate one 33g Alaska Powdered Milk Drink.

The thought of helping the kids of Children’s Hour will surely inspire runners to participate.
