For history
buffs among the local running community, the Intramuros Run, scheduled for August 4, is an opportunity to trot
along landmarks of our Spanish colonial
past: sturdy bastions, baroque churches
and a romantic fort.
Touring the Walled
City thru running is something worth spending for and this is what 15 of our
First Balfour runners and friends did when they registered last Friday.

And we have the Mapua
Institute of Technology – Chemical Engineering and Chemistry Alumni Association
((MITChE-ChemAA) to thank for, particularly their contact person Jossie Ng who
has been patient in answering our queries.
This association of youthful engineers and engineers-to-be continues to
sponsor this fun run for their scholarship fund-raising efforts. Truly, they are doing us an invaluable service.

To quote from our hard-working Department of Tourism
Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr. – "The walls of Intramuros tell a beautiful
story of our resilience. It is not only an important cultural landmark, but
also one of the historical treasures we Filipinos must protect. It would be
fulfilling to see our youth of today discover new reasons to appreciate the
Walled City and become active participants in its promotion."
P.S. A big thanks to our FB co-worker, James Tesoro, who took the time to go to the
Mapua campus for us to be registered.
