I am a Bicolano by birth and choice. By any standards, I am a slow runner but I like it that way. I look at running as a healthy and exciting way to make a difference. Together with my fellow runners from our family, school, office, and the community, we use running to give back.

TAKBO SA PAGBANGON NG LEYTE: May 4, 2014

EmoticonTuesday morning, the BP received info from a friendly fellow blogger, Running Diva, about an interesting fun run scheduled for May 4, 2014.

Good thing for I was looking for  running events to join on a monthly basis this summer  with my son. It is vacation time and it is a good idea to balance the social media activities of a teenager with some physical exercise under the sun.

What we are talking about is the Takbo sa Pagbangon ng Leyte which is a benefit run spearheaded by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC). The Benefit Run aims to raise funds to help rebuild communities in partnership with Gawad Kalinga for Typhoon Yolanda victims as well as enhance awareness about PDIC's and its CSR program. The Takbo sa Pagbangon ng Leyte is also the culminating activity of PDIC’s 50th Anniversary celebration.
