RUNNER’S WORLD PHILIPPINE EDITION: October-December 2012 Issue

It is a ritual for me to drop by the local literary mecca that is the Fully Booked Store when  I am in the Bonifacio High Street area in Taguig City.  Last night was no different and I was ecstatic to see on the magazine rack  brand  new issues of 3 editions of Runner’s World:   United States,    United Kingdom  and the Philippines.

Looking at the 3 editions, the choice of what to buy was  clear as day for me.  It has to be the Philippine edition.  The more affordable price of the local edition has something to do with the choice but the clincher was the cover.  You see the cover of the Philippine edition is the graceful yet bull strong Jaymie Pizarro aka The Bull Runner.

With hundreds of local runners, like me, tracing their marathon genesis to The Bull Runner Dream Marathon (now on its 4th  edition  ) and her running blog among the most popular, Jaymie is arguably among the top 5 most influential in the Philippine running community.  She is an inspiration to thousands and she has shown nothing is impossible with hard work and joyful passion.

I must say it is an excellent job for the Runner’s World editors to feature her on the cover.   Ennobling   “(Stub)Born to Run” article on her at pages 40-45.  No doubt, readers will all be gung ho to run more and longer.

Living life to the fullest, that is Jaymie Pizarro.  Or shall we say, living life to the bullish.
