I am a Bicolano by birth and choice. By any standards, I am a slow runner but I like it that way. I look at running as a healthy and exciting way to make a difference. Together with my fellow runners from our family, school, office, and the community, we use running to give back.

WE SHARE BECAUSE WE CARE

For a handful of  homilies already in the Aguinaldo masses starting December  16 ,  our parish priest Fr. Joelan Landerio has been using these words to encourage parishioners to participate  in the  Christmas activities of the Ascension of Our Lord Parish  in Paranaque City, many of which are for helping  the developing and depressed areas in the community.

Share and Care. Two powerful positive words. And they  moved me and many more.

That is why, last December 22, I joined  a couple dozen  volunteers at the gift-giving activity of the parish for poor  families at the village gym inside Goodwill 2 Subdivision. These volunteers were led by the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) President (Faye Manuel) and  Vice President (Vic Mojica). Together with Worship ministry officers , I manned the registration table at the start of the activity. Later on, we  helped in shepherding the recipient-families lined up for their Christmas packages.  In between , there were catechetical activity, a holy mass and dinner for the families.

We shared our time in helping others be happy this Christmas.

It sure made this Christmas a more meaningful one. The enriching education of the Bicolano Penguin slogs along.

Merry Christmas to All.
