I am a Bicolano by birth and choice. By any standards, I am a slow runner but I like it that way. I look at running as a healthy and exciting way to make a difference. Together with my fellow runners from our family, school, office, and the community, we use running to give back.

WHAT DO RUNNERS DO ON CHRISTMAS DAY?

Simple.  We run.

Indeed, this afternoon of December 25, I joined my fellow 83neans Bob, Ernie and Fards have a run at our favorite haunting grounds – Camp Aguinaldo. It was an enjoyable jaunt.  Happy to share a run with buddies of the type that one would share the proverbial foxhole.

Runners also get to share gifts on Christmas Day.  Gifts of the running kind. Bitoy joined us prior to the run and he had with him a cool blue Mizuno dri fit shirt for his fellow Batch 83 marathoners.  Five to be exact. Bitoy had a book for me which he purchased at Kinokuniya in Singapore (this will be the subject of another article).

Fards gave me and Ernie Nike running shorts each.  The shorts of the old school type.

Christmas is about getting to appreciate our blessings in life. There are many  in our running life.
